COMMUNITY BASED INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT OF CHILDREN AND PERSONS WITH DIFFERENT ABILITIES (PwDS) :

The strenuous efforts of DISA to reach out the most vulnerable and excluded sections of the society resulted in focusing on Children and People with different abilities (PwDs) through the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and their empowerment adopting the CBR Matrix. Children have been included in this programme and are adopted for home based and direct support for their social, educational and medical well-being. We have also facilitated to form and manage Disabled People’s Organization (DPOs) and enabled them to claim for their rights and entitlements, thereby ensure their due share in the society. Inclusive SHGs help them to promote savings and thrift programmes and involve in financial inclusion activities and be on the road to self-reliance. In organizing and facilitating these programmes in Basti Sadar, Harraiya, Ikauna and Mithaval Blocks, DISA has got the technical and financial support from JAN VIKAS SAMITI, Varanasi and the partnership with Stichting Liliane Foundation under the Project: Inclusive Development of Children and Youngsters with Disability (IDCYD). DISA also got the technical and financial support from CBR Forum, Bengaluru and Caritas India, New Delhi to implement the Programme in Sahajanwa Block of Gorakhpur District.
