Rural Development Programs


There are thousands of villages in rural India. DISA has set its goal to reach out to the every corners of its working areas in Basti Sadar and Harraiya Block of Basti District, Mithawal block in Siddharthnagar District and Ikauna in Shrawasti District. The marginalised and less privileged ones in the society becomes the victims of social injustice. Most people depend on daily wages and there are days they are not able to earn anything for livelihood. Most of the people in the villages are illiterate too. Awareness programs are conducted and motivate the women, Men, Youth, and Children to come to the main stream and for their holistic development. DISA is strengthening the women through SHGs, Farmers through their federations, Children and youth through their children’s supportive groups, Youth with the Skill development program and livelihood activities. DISA joins hands with Nai Disha Mahila Samithi a registered society in promoting Gender Justice and Women empowerment issues in villages. They take up a special role to educate their children in regular school, care for the nature and environment, impart the knowledge on heath and cleanliness, and keep in touch with Asha worker to improve the intake of nutrition, motherhood and the Govt. Schemes. They too observe the Independence Day, Girl child Day, World Literacy Day, Cleanliness Day, International HIV AIDS Day, Disability Day, Human Rights Day, Republic Day and Women’s Day.
